Context
Groupe Vasquerel (fictitious entity) is closing its 20X5 consolidated statements. The closing memo combines a prior period error, two changes in policy of which one is partly impracticable, a change in estimate, a settled claim, a policy to be developed and an IFRS issued but not applied. You prepare the review file, submitted to the reviewer before sign-off.
Assignment
Policy memo: reuse credits
Purpose of the workpaper
Describe the transaction, look for the IFRS that specifically applies to it and the effect of materiality; where no IFRS applies, document in order the sources consulted (IFRSs dealing with similar issues, Conceptual Framework, other consistent pronouncements), check consistency by category, then write the policy adopted and its rationale.
Questions of the file covered by this workpaper
- Set the group's policy for the reuse credits.
- Present the entries: restatements, Vasquerel Jardin adjustment, racking and reuse credits.
