Case brief

Situation

Merlane Group SA (fictitious entity), a listed company, acquired 25 % of Dolvane with goodwill and a fair value excess, 40 % of Pertrel on favourable terms, and bears the loss of Wexler (30 %); it also holds convertible bonds of Yaltek, and its venture capital subsidiary holds 30 % of Zorlan. You prepare the 20X6 equity method file.

Your assignment

Examine the exemptions and the significant influence in Yaltek with its potential rights; for Dolvane, compute the share of net fair values, the goodwill, the extra depreciation, the adjusted profit, the shares of profit and of other comprehensive income, the dividend and the closing amount; for Pertrel, the bargain income; for Wexler, the capped share of losses; record the five entries, present their cumulative effect and conclude.
