IAS 10Chapter 2Lesson 2

The date of authorisation for issue

Step 1 of 8Learning objectives

Go deeper+1 deeper insight · +1 point of attention

The date of authorisation for issue closes the IAS 10 window. It depends on the entity's governance. When shareholders approve the statements after they are issued, the date of authorisation is the date of issue, not that of the meeting. When management submits the statements to a supervisory board made up solely of non-executives, the date of authorisation is when management authorises that submission.
