Case brief

Situation

The Solvanne group (fictitious entity) is preparing the cash note of its 20X8 financial statements. Its subsidiary in Valtaria (fictitious country) holds local currency cash subject to exchange controls. You analyse the balances at 31 December 20X8.

Your assignment

Qualify each balance, assess the overdraft and the availability of the subsidiary's balances, determine closing cash, the exchange effect and the reconciliation, present the entry for the short-term bank loan and its effect, prepare the note and conclude. One item of information is missing: document your assumption.

Work on this file as you would in practice: read the situation, open the documents, sort the useful information, then carry out the work requested. The solution is revealed once you submit.

Advanced level: no help, the work is grouped by kind.
