Case brief

Situation

Hydrozane Distribution SA (fictitious entity) distributes water and closes its books on 31 December 20X6. The Republic of Valdoria controls the entity, as it controls Valdoria Rail SA, one of its customers. The entity granted a loan to its chief executive, Mr Aldric Verne, and pays customs duties to the administration of a third country. Management must decide what to disclose about its relationships with the State.

Your assignment

Determine whether the exemption applies and to which entities; check its limits (natural persons, ordinary dealings); compute the transactions of the State group from the proportion given; assess the extent of the disclosure to keep; record the contract with Valdoria Rail SA; present the effect on the financial statements; conclude.

Work on this file as you would in practice: read the situation, open the documents, sort the useful information, then carry out the work requested. The solution is revealed once you submit.

Advanced level: no help, the work is grouped by kind.
